From October 2006 to July 2014, 453 experts from our Ministry and the institutions related to food safety in Turkey participated in 25 seminars / workshops / trainings organised within the Programme. Experts from EFSA, MSs and the EC were invited to take a part as speakers in order to share their knowledge, experience and future plans on the topic for the specific event. Our representatives also presented their views and the state of the art in Turkey on the topics concerned.
22 experts from Turkey participated in 4 study tours to the competent authorities in England, Spain, Croatia and Netherlands. The study visits have contributed to understand the food safety system in these EU countries.
In total 160 experts from Turkey participated in 156 EFSA meetings (EFSA’s Advisory Forum (AF), Advisory Forum Working Group on Communication (AFWGC), Focal Points (FP) and EFSA’s scientific networks meetings, scientific colloquia, conferences, scientific events, workshops and EFSA`s meetings with stakeholders) as observer. Participation of the Advisory Forum, the Focal Points, and the dedicated networks, which are key vehicles for data and information exchange, consultation, and work sharing between EFSA and the MSs, has provided important contribution to understanding of EFSA’s work. The networks facilitate scientific cooperation through the coordination of activities, the exchange of information (e.g. on recent risk assessment activities or on data collection), the development and implementation of joint projects (e.g. scientific events and workshops), and the exchange of expertise and best practice in the fields within the EFSA’s mission.
