Rwanda’s Ambassador to Ankara Caezar Kayizari
paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mehmet
Mehdi Eker.
In the meeting held at the office of Minister
Eker, agricultural relations between the two countries were discussed. Minister
Eker mentioned about the requirement for a Memorandum of Understanding in the
Field of Agriculture for the systematic implementation of agricultural
cooperation with Rwanda. Minister Eker stated “Steps in this area should be taken
as soon as possible. In order to establish a sound basis for cooperation, we
should carry out a comprehensive feasibility study. We need to receive detailed
statistical data thereof. As a Ministry, we desire to promote agricultural
cooperation with Rwanda.”
Rwanda’s Ambassador to Ankara Caezar Kayizari,
on the other hand, declared his desire for making cooperation with Turkey in
terms of enhancing relations in the fields of agricultural research, good
farming practices, share of experience in agricultural innovation, food and
feed production, fisheries, development of sericulture and beekeeping
activities, poultry breeding, investments in dairy and beef sector as well as
the development of seed growing sector.
