Minister of
Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mehmet Mehdi Eker met the Speaker of the
Canadian House of Commons Andrew Scheer and accompanying delegation at his office.
Minister Eker delivered a speech there and stated that Turkey and Canada are
brother countries.
Canada has
a great potential in terms of vast agricultural lands and agricultural
potential, Mr. Eker said, and Turkey is one of the most important countries in
the world in the field of agriculture.
Mentioning
the great advantage of Turkey within the scope of agricultural diversity,
Minister Eker declared that Turkey is the homeland of many crops especially
wheat.
Minister
Eker, who stated that improvement of agricultural relations between Turkey and
Canada is of great importance not only for global food safety but also for global
future of agricultural sector, mentioned about the responsibility of
agricultural sector on the improvement of bilateral relations between the two
countries.

between both countries. Agricultural activities are supported by all countries
in the world, Mr. Scheer added, and countries are willing to present products for
their citizens in affordable prices.
