Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mr. Faruk Çelik stated that efforts will go on for improving trade potential and reinforcing friendship between Turkey and Bangladesh.
Minister Çelik attended the reception held on the occasion of Bangladesh National Day for celebrating the 45th anniversary of its independence.
The reception started with the national anthems of both countries. Delivering a speech in the ceremony, Minister Çelik referred to the close and friendly relations between the two countries and said "Turkey always stands by Bangladesh in its tough times. We remember with respect the altruistic supports of Bengal community towards Turkish Nation in the Independence War".
Reminding his visit to Bangladesh on the occasion of Turkey-Bangladesh Joint Economic Commission in 2012, Minister Çelik expressed his pleasure on the participation of Bangladesh to Antalya EXPO 2016 to be opened in April.
Wishing eternity for brotherhood between both countries, Minister Çelik added" On behalf of the Government, Turkish Nation and me, I congratulate the National Day of Bangladesh Nation".
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Ankara Mr. Allama Siddiki expressed his pleasure on the course of long-standing relations with Turkey. Bangladesh is developing fast and will reach the middle income level by 2021, Mr. Siddiki added.
The reception hosted by Mr. Siddiki was also attended by Mr. Hüseyin Yayman, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Admiral Bülent Bostanoğlu, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces and several representatives from foreign missions in Ankara, as well as diplomats and journalists.
