On July 9, 2015, with the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Masum Burak, Director General of GDAR, a signing ceremony was hosted for 78 projects that were granted for support in year 2015 within the framework of Ministry R&D Support Programme.
In his opening remarks our Director General briefly explained the scope of Agricultural R&D Change and Transformation Programme that was implemented recently. Referring government-university-private sector cooperation as the most significant aspect of the said programme, Director General stated that the infrastructure of the Research Institutes functional under Ministry has been available for universities, private sector and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and 195 projects conducted by 114 different companies and with a budget of TRY 15.5M that was offered since 2007 in this regard.
It was also stated that in 2007, the year when the R&D Support Programme started first, 214 projects out of 813 project submissions were found eligible of grant for 2007-2014 periods and 92 projects out of 214 have been finalized while 122 are still on-going. Including 78 new projects granted with the ceremony, total project submission number under Ministry R&D Support Programme has hit 1094 and the total project number granted reached a number of 292. A total of TRY 28.9M payment has been made by the Ministry so far for 214 projects granted under the support programme and the budget spent for the programme has been increasing since the year it was first available.
Following the remarks of Director General and signing of projects grant agreements with the attendance of Project coordinators and representatives of executive agencies from 78 projects that were granted for support in year 2015 period, the ceremony was ended.
The 78 projects agreements signed are constituted of which 57 projects belong to universities while 20 are private sector and 1 was submitted by an NGO.
