Under G20 Turkey's presidency, the preparation work of "Action Plan On Food Security And Sustainable Food Systems" has been started that combines the essence of the communiqué released during G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting (May 8, İstanbul) targeting reducing food loss and waste and the priorities of "Implementation Plan of the G20 Food Security and Nutrition Framework" which was endorsed during Development Working Group.
The first draft of the Action Plan which was considered to be an instrument of solid and strategic importance was discussed during 3rd G20 Agriculture Deputies Meeting chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Masum BURAK. Representing our Directorate, Head of Department of Agricultural Economics Research Dr. Muhammet Demirtaş, also attended the meeting. During sessions the draft received the positive opinions of the delegates.
Representatives of 16 member states attended the meeting along with representatives invited from Spain, Azerbaijan, Sweden and several participants from international organizations such as OECD and FAO.
Final form of Action Plan will be submitted for the approval of leaders during G20 Antalya Summit in November.
