Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mr. Mehmet Daniş received the Deputy Minister of Agriculture from Kazakhstan Mr. Yermek Kosherbaev and accompanying delegation at his office.
In the mutual meeting, Deputy Minister Daniş expressed his pleasure to host the guest Deputy Minister Mr. Kosherbaev in Turkey. Referring to the brotherhood between both countries, Mr. Daniş stated that it is important for strengthening agricultural relations between the two countries.
Turkey is ready to share its experience and knowledge in agricultural area with Kazakhstan, Mr. Daniş added, and "Cooperation Agreement on Plant Protection and Plant Quarantine between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Kazakhstan" was completed in this regard. Draft "Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation" planned to be signed by the Ministries of both countries is still under discussion. They are working on these agreements and desire to sign them as soon as possible.
Mr. Daniş reported that they attach special importance to the struggles on providing food security on a global level and the issue of food security is a primary issue of G20 under Turkey's presidency. Turkey gained significant experience in terms of food security and ready to share its experience with Kazakhstan, Mr. Daniş added.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Mr. Yermek Kosherbaev underlined the importance of agriculture and animal husbandry and expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral relations, in particular agricultural relations, between the two countries. In this respect, Mr. Kosherbaev stated that the first plenary session of the International Organization on Food Security will be held in Astana on April 28, 2016.
