Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Faruk Çelik stated that agricultural cooperation protocol signed with Kyrgyzstan has expired and they are ready to sign a new one. Minister Çelik added that cooperation agreement on plant protection and plant quarantine is on the agenda.
Minister Çelik received the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Turdunazir Bekboev and accompanying delegation. In the reception, Minister Çelik expressed his pleasure to host the Minister of Agriculture of the brother and friend country, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the delegation.
Underlying that relations between the two countries have continued on a "strategic partnership" level since 2011, Minister Çelik talked about the trade volume between both countries and support given by Turkey through its several institutions and organizations, in particular TİKA.
Turkey will keep supporting agricultural mechanization
Expressing the importance of agriculture for Kyrgyzstan, Minister Çelik stated "For the introduction of modern techniques and mechanization in agriculture, we will keep on contributing to projects by way of TİKA.
Invitation to EXPO 2016
Minister Çelik expressed his desire on the participation of Kyrgyzstan to EXPO 2016 Antalya. In terms of participation, 32 countries, out of Kyrgyzstan, have signed a contract so far, Minister Çelik added.
Mr. Bekboev: We are in desire of collaboration in bean export
Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Turdunazir Bekboev mentioned about the good relations between the two countries. One of the primary objectives of today's meeting is the export of products produced in Kyrgyzstan in line with the demands from Turkey, Mr. Bekboev added. At first, Kyrgyzstan desires to make collaboration thereof but they faced with some problems at customs in terms of bean export to Turkey last year. Regulations in this area will contribute to the solution of such problems.
Referring to the high quality products produced in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Bekboev expressed his desire to continue trade relations with Turkey in terms of fruits, vegetables, meat and honey.
