The National Strategy and Action Plan on Animal Genetic Resources (NSAP-AnGR) and the brief English version which were prepared in a strategic approach have been published. The NSAP-AnGR cover 5 year period and comprise planned activities on conservation and sustainable utilization of AnGR conducted by General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policy.
The NSAP-AnGR consists of 24 actions and 50 tasks on below strategic areas;
1. Characterization, inventory and monitoring trends and associated risks
2. Sustainable use and improvement,
3. Conservation,
4. Policies, institutions and capacity building.
Besides NSAP-AnGR, posters on local big ruminant, small ruminant, poultry and small domestic animals and booklet on breed information and AnGR Management Activities prepared by Animal Genetic Resources Research Working Group were published. All printed documents can be downloaded from the website.
